76,44% of voters registered in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic participated in the nation-wide referendum on draft Constitution, on February 20, 2017. 87,6% of them voted for the new Constitution.
Under the new Constitution, the citizens will enjoy broader powers, including in management of public affairs, as well as in changing the Constitution.
More than 100 international observers from 30 countries monitored the voting process. They positively assessed the organization and conduct of the referendum, underlying its transparency and compliance with the international standards.
According to the NKR Foreign Ministry, the constitutional referendum was another act of expression of will of the people of Karabakh.
