Over a period of four days, the Global Forum of Youth Leaders will take place in Baku. Fifty youth leaders and researchers from around the world are taking part, in addition to around 20 high-placed guests, including five former presidents and members of their families.
The forum has been organized by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, with the support of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
Amongst the themes of the forum are: ‘What does leadership mean to me?’, ‘How can one study leadership’, ‘Does the leadership of men and women differ?’ and ‘Do cultures show different paths?’
The ex-president of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliyev, ex-president of Serbia Boris Tadich, ex-president of Croatia Ivo Yosilovich, ex-president of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, former prime-minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzia, ex-president of Israel Daily Itsik and former minister of foreign affairs of Turkey Hikmet Çetin are participating in the forum.
Moreover, in order to participate, the children of the presidents of Macedonia, Montenegro and the former presidents and prime ministers of Albania, Andorra, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Latvia and Ukraine have also come to Azerbaijan.
The participation of children of acting and former presidents gave rise to bewilderment on social media. Some commentators regarded this as ‘neo-feudalism’.
