Beer pipeline to supply rock-festival in Germany
Wacken Open Air organizers are working on their own beer pipeline, and intends to launch it on 3 August, opening day.
Every year, about 400 000 liters of beer is consumed at the festival. More than 75 000 tourists from around the world come to Wacken (population 2000).
The pipeline is meant to protect soil from the trucks delivering beer, and also help the workers who carry the barrels to substitute the empty ones. A special water supply system is also being constructed and the sewage system being renewed.
The projects costs an estimated 1 million euros.
