One person was injured, while the protesters have already been released. Baku police dispersed a protest against election fraud, which was held by several dozen young activists in front of the building of the Electoral Commission.
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Azerbaijan on February 9, in which the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) won a majority of seats.
The OSCE and other international organizations have called this election undemocratic, and independent observers recorded a wide variety of violations.
The protesters demanded a fair investigation of the violations.
Among them were former candidates for parliament, journalists and activists. Police harsh;y pushed the protesters onto a bus and drove them away without announcing where they were being taken.
Near the city center, the bus was stopped and the protesters were released. One of them was taken to the hospital with suspected rib fracture and a concussion.
