Baku police ask drivers to wash their cars

The Main State Administration of the Traffic Police of Baku asked car owners through a televised address to monitor the appearance of their cars and keep them clean. According to them, the cars on the city streets have lately been so dirty that their license plates could not be read. This not only spoils the aesthetic appearance of the city, but also shames it before tourists. The Azerbaijani Administrative Code also provides for a fine of 40 manats (about USD 24) for license plates that are not legible.
