The Armenian government has decided to give financial support to the five political parties and blocs that overcame the 3% threshold in the country’s recent parliamentary elections, regardless of whether they made it into parliament or not.
The equivalent of $200,000 in total will be allocated to the five groups and distributed in accordance with the number of votes received in the elections.
The ruling My Step party will receive the largest amount, the equivalent of $160,000. The two other parties that made it into parliament, Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia, will receive $19,000 and $14,000 respectively.
Support will also be received by the political forces that did not make it into parliament but who overcame the 3% threshold: the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia will receive $10,000, and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) will receive the equivalent of $9,000.
