Makeup without makeup
If you’re agonizing over the makeup that will be in fashion in 2017, take a breather: the stylists suggest ‘wearing makeup without makeup’ next year. No graphics: just soft lines and a little bit of blush, natural eyebrows and no liner-shaped lips. To put it short, in order to look stylish, you should add some naturalness and even certain carelessness to your appearance, but, at the same time, be maximally kempt.
Say goodbye to contour makeup that was in trend in 2016, to the classic dark-red and also matte lipsticks; get rid of an eyebrow liner and hurry to buy bright and glossy shades and same kind of lipstick.
But don’t think that you can so easily underline the nature’s granted beauty and rush out of the house without even looking in the mirror. Even the makeup that seems simple at first glance requires special skills and competent work. Having talked to an expert for an hour I’ve concluded that it’s not that easy to look natural and, in addition, it’s time consuming. However, it goes without saying that it’s still efficient.
Let me introduce you some petty secrets and intricacies that I’ve learned in course of an improvised master-class by Lusine Baghdasaryan. She familiarized me with new trends of the renowned Chanel, Anthony Vaccarello, Fendi fashion houses.
Here’s my photo before makeup.
And this is a photo after makeup.
In the third version, just a couple of strokes turn a daily makeup into an evening one.
If you want to do yourself what Lusine told me and showed on my face, then you should get familiar with some of the stylist’s tips.
Take care of your skin
No matter how costly, professional, disguising or heavy-textured your base cream is, it won’t make your skin look healthy if the latter is not such. Try to devote more time to skincare so as to make it smooth and shiny.
Use of base
Before using the foundation, first apply the makeup base to smooth out red, swollen and unsmooth skin sections. The greenish base cream will allow breaking a reddish tint and will not be visible from under the foundation.
Choose the foundation that will match your skin tone and oiliness
Apply foundation over the base. You can do it either with a brush or your fingers. The most important is that the foundation corresponds to your skin tone, make sure that it’s not lighter or darker. To ensure that foundation covers up uneven skin sections, you can use a wet sponge for buffing and blending the foundation into the skin.
Do not apply foundation on the skin around the eyes
Foundation creams are designed to make your skin smooth, but they are not suitable for delicate skin around the eyes, especially if there are dark circles of fatigue underneath them. There are other means of care that can be applied to those areas – concealers that cover your skin problems. A concealer should be either of the same tone as the foundation, or a tone lighter. There are concealers, specifically designed for the skin around the eyes, and they will help cover up wrinkles, as opposed to the foundation, that cannot be smoothly applied to the rough skin and even more underline the unevenness. Concealer also serves as a base and a fixer for eye shadows.
Add softness to your skin
After you’ve applied the makeup base and foundation, and a concealer around your eye, you should add some softness to your skin. For this purpose, apply loose powder in circular movements with a medium-size brush.
Use blush
First of all, choose a natural color blush, then apply it with a brush from the ear top down to the cheek dimple. If those limits are not observed, you can spoil the whole makeup, making it look unnatural. Blend the blush edges with the brush strokes so that they are not visible. Everything should be done in moderation in order not look like a clown.
Add depth to your eyes
For the eyes, you can choose the eye shadows of neutral tones and color. In this regard, the year doesn’t pose any particular color restrictions. Moreover, feel free to go to the store and buy shiny eyeshadows or shadows with sequins. The most important thing is not to overdo it, so that make up won’t look showy or vulgar. If you decide to underline your eyes with shiny shadows, then you’d better choose a neutral lipstick and vice versa.
To make your eyes more expressive, use two tones. First apply shadows with a brush under the eyebrow, then highlight the eyelid crease with the darkest tone of the color that you’ve chosen. Then apply the color you want to dominate in your makeup on your eyelid. Mind that ‘eyeliner arrows’ are no longer in fashion, all edges should be blended with a brush.
Natural eyebrows
Eyebrows should look natural. Don’t use a pencil, shades or wax for shaping your eyebrows. On the contrary, careless, natural eyebrows, like that of a schoolgirl, will make you look more stylish.
Lip gloss
Use shiny lipstick that will give you a fresh look. Avoid using matte colors, especially a classic dark-red. Any lipstick with gloss will make you look stylish this year. Choose light neutral tones for daily makeup and the berry tones for the evening one.
Lusine suggests changing lipstick color and adding some shine to one’s eyes in order to turn a day makeup into an evening one.
Well, those have been the makeup trends for 2017. But the choice is yours. It’s solely up to you to decide how to look and which makeup to prefer this year!
