“I’m fond of travelling. When you travel a lot, you never know at what point a new idea is going to cross your mind. I may be drinking tea at one of Yerevan cafés, and then, all of a sudden, find myself hitchhiking to Dilizhan to eat mushroom soup. Hitchhiking has greatly changed my vision of the outside world. That’s how I familiarized myself with the Chinese tradition of drinking tea: when I was hitchhiking across China, one of the drivers invited me to his friend’s office – to relax a bit and have a cup of tea.”
